Kamala and Maya’s Big Idea

$18.00
Sold Out

This book offers kids the chance to see themselves as community innovators. When Kamala and Maya see an empty courtyard, they dreamed a playground to fill the empty space. They transformed this dream into an idea! In order to make this dream a reality, they had to talk to their landlord.

When they meet with him, he says no. This no was not a reason for them to give up. Conversely, they engaged in dialogue with their peers and community members, organized, planned, and raised money. This work led to their idea becoming a reality. This story teaches children that making change requires faith in their idea, collective work and responsibility, and joy.
