The Young Dreamers’ Bookstore Announces National Partnership with the Center for Black Educator Development
When we founded The Young Dreamers’ Bookstore, our mission was clear: to equip children with books that inspire them to become agents of change—making themselves and the world around them better, more beautiful places.
Over the past year, we have proudly partnered with local and county-wide educational institutions to make this vision a reality. Today, we are thrilled to announce the expansion of that impact through a national partnership with the Center for Black Educator Development (CBED).
Through this transformative collaboration, CBED has purchased thousands of culturally responsive and empowering books for their Freedom School Literacy Academies, which serve Black children across the country. The Young Dreamers’ Bookstore was honored to assist in getting these books into the hands of scholars in Memphis, Philadelphia, Detroit, and Camden. This partnership not only broadens our reach but deepens our shared commitment to literacy justice, joyful learning, and the development of future Black educators.
We extend our deepest gratitude to CEO Bro. Sharif El-Mekki for entrusting us with this monumental opportunity. We are honored to walk alongside the Center in a movement that is changing the trajectory of thousands of young Black scholars’ lives.
At The Young Dreamers’ Bookstore, it brings us immense joy to partner with organizations like CBED—organizations committed to helping children dream big and bold dreams that shape a more just and beautiful world.
We look forward to many more years of #DreamingWithTheCenterForBlackEducatorDevelopment and continuing the essential work of literacy, love, and liberation.
