YDBS Participates in the Black Birth Expo

Last Saturday, The Young Dreamers' Bookstore participated in the Black Birth Expo hosted by Healthy Start, Inc. Pittsburgh/Allegheny County, at the August Wilson African American Cultural Centern AmericanCulturalCenter! During the Expo, we met so many mothers, expecting mothers, grandmothers, fathers, grandfathers, aunts, uncles, doulas, professors, healthcare professionals, and community leaders. We enjoyed laughing and talking with so many families.

We especially enjoyed people’s reaction when we connected them with books that spoke to their dreams and reading needs!

I like to give a special shoutout to Dr. Lee Johnson III, Ph.D. III, who sponsored book giveaway for this event. Through his sponsorship, we were able to give away over 30 board books to families who attended the event! Dr. Johnson sponsorship was deeply appreciated from us and all of the families who received books! Thank you so much Dr. Johnson for investing in Black children and their dreams !

Lastly, we would like to say thank you to Paige Kendra Mitchell for extending the invitation for us to participate in this important event!
